Merit-Bay - Help and Guidelines for Site Usage

Test Instructions - Registered Users
1.        Merit-Bay has currently a total of 137 test topics for which tests can be taken. You can take as many number of tests in each topics as you wish for. However, please note that requesting a new test when you have an unused test of same topic under your account will lead to a warning page. Consequently, you may opt to continue the earlier created and still unused test or continue creating a new test on which case the older test would be deleted.

       Please note that broken tests would be maintained as long as you opt to finish the test or until the expiry date indicated whichever is earlier.
 

2.        Registration is currently free and there is no limitation to the number of tests that could be availed by the user. Please note that Software Technology International Corp. reserves the right to withdraw this evaluation offer at any time without giving any prior notice to the users. Software Technology International Corp. will not liable for any damages arising out of usage of the online test facility, its subsequent evaluation, favorable or otherwise, loss of data etc. under unforeseen circumstances. While it is our endeavour to ensure the correctness of all the test material involved in hosting of this site, Software Technology International Corp. also makes no guarantee as to the accuracy of the answers to the questions.
 

3.        Test history on completed tests would be maintained under your account as long as it is deemed feasible. Removing of outdated test details would be done whenever necessary and Software Technology International Corp. is under no compulsion to inform the users of the exact schedule.
 

4.        For ordinary registered users, incomplete and broken tests would be valid for 30 days from the date of creation of the test. However, please note that unused and fresh tests under any topic would be held valid only for 30 days from the date of its creation. Upon expiry of the said limit, all details regarding the test would be trashed and would not be made available for any reasons whatsoever. Please note that this includes test that have been started but left unattended after quitting the test for a long period. No claims could be made to reclaim such tests in part or in full.
 

5.        The provision to continue tests broken at the middle is to offset genuine compulsions arising due to network failure, server problems at host site, Internet connection blackout and any such foreseen circumstances. Users are expected to strictly honour the spirit of online testing. If at any stage, it is found that this provision was misused for manipulations and personal gains with the intent of fraud, Software Technology International Corp. reserves the right to invalidate both the test results and test conduction. If an online test is discontinued for any of the genuine reasons discussed above, the user is requested to wait for a minimum of 10 minutes. Following that, you may navigate to the 'broken tests' folder of your test home page menu and click on the appropriate test to continue it. The answers attended previously would be preserved intact and would go in arriving at the final score.
 

6.        Users are informed that the original test process would be conducted in a new browser window upon commencing the test. Please note that this window would be stripped of the browser's navigation capabilities and right-click feature of mouse would be disabled. Users not adhering to the above mentioned code of conduct are liable to have their tests or results or both invalidated.
 

7.        On completion of the test, the results would be immediately posted along with the score and test status which could be PASS or FAIL. Please note that the evaluation done on the test is final and binding and not open to re-examination under any circumstances. A detailed breakup analysis of the candidate's individual strength and weakness in key areas of the topic of the test would be displayed to enable the candidate to prune his skills in least performing areas.
 

8.        Please note that majority of the questions fall under multiple choice pattern. There would be only 1 correct answer that exactly fits the reasoning behind any question. Once a set of questions in a page is answered and the answers submitted, the user cannot move back to the same questions and revise his answer. In short, moving back to previous pages and using of keyboard control keys (for page navigation) is strictly prohibited as mentioned earlier.
 

Test Instructions - Corporate Candidates
1.        Candidates appearing for the test who are not registered users of the site and who attend the test upon request from a company/recruitment agency are labelled as 'Corporate Candidates'. The flexibility and facilities available to such 'Corporate Candidates' is very much restricted. Hence, it is requested that users register themselves with us for free test evaluation and updates.
 

2.        Corporate Candidates could move on to the test page from the index page of the site by clicking on the link provided under the 'Corporate Candidate' banner. After going through the whole instructions, the candidates could proceed to take on the test. The test window will be closed on completion and the results would be posted directly to our client under your name and address in a safe manner.
 

3.        'Corporate Candidates' do not have their account maintained by 'Merit-Bay' and hence it would not be possible for them to access any test related data concerning earlier tests.
 

Test Instructions - Corporate Users
1.        Clients and recruitment agencies registered with us have flexible and powerful options to create and conduct tests whenever necessary for them.
 

2.        One of the major advantages of Merit-Bay online test evaluation under corporate account, is the option to create and use 'Merit-Bay templates'. 'Templates' are defined as the blueprint or skeleton for any test to be conducted. The corporate clientele can, if they wish so, create entities called templates. These would be used to arrive at the basic question formula. This feature is very exciting and powerful as the corporates now have the ability to select candidates matching their exact standards.
 

3.        Corporate clients have the option of choosing between two types of test conduction - template based or otherwise. If a corporate wishes to conduct a template-based test, he could instruct to conduct a test with questions based on a template that he specifies. This template could have been earlier created by him or he could go ahead and proceed to create a fresh template while requesting bulk tests. In the template creation process, he could select any combination of the main topics. He could also just opt to conduct a test in only one particular topic, (say Java) and yet require the testing be done only on 2 subtopics of Java (Say JavaSwing and Java Basics). This extremely powerful option enables the corporate to pick up the right candidates for the right job by thoroughly gauging the candidates expertise in each of the subtopics. Such an option would enable the corporate to recruit a DBA just by testing his JDBC and Java Basics skills.
 

4.        Templates could also be created by combining or mixing different and unrelated IT fields. Say a company 'A' could well create a Java-C++ template by selecting Java and C++ as main topics and Java Basics, JavaSwing, C++ polymorphism and C++ inheritance as subtopics.
 

5.         Corporate clients have yet another powerful option which enables them to request bulk tests in a particular test or template of his fancy. By selecting the template or topic he wishes along with the number of tests required, the requested number of tests would be created under his account and the testid(s) would be displayed to him. All the tests go under a single entity called 'Test Room' for which you could assign your own fancy name and description for easy identification. These testid(s) are to serve as room ticket or id to prospective candidates while taking the test. The Corporate may also if he wish so, assign Active Room Session time, a cut-off time limit within which all the corporate candidates would be required to take the test. It is only optional. If it is not specified, a default timeperiod which is 5 days prior to the test room life would be assigned for the Room Active Session time. Upon completion of the test, the company could fetch a detailed report of the entire test session and have many options of reporting at their disposal like getting the toppers in any topic / template / test room, get detailed analysis of candidate's area strength and weakness and related reports. Reports are mostly customized to enable the corporates to sort them by any order that they feel required.
